What type of procrastinator are you?

Did you know there are types of procrastinators? – Active and Passive.

Active Procrastinators

This category can be described as a ‘positive’ type of procrastinator. They deliberately decided to delay a certain task because they know they work better under pressure. For example, an active procrastinator may realize that he has an assignment coming this weekend. He still has five days to prepare for it. Instead of getting straight to it the day it was assigned, he may deliberately delay working on it for three more days and decide to prepare it on Friday because his brain produces better results when there is an element of pressure.

Working when there is a certain deadline and a controlled amount of pressure helps them thrive. It is under such circumstances that they enjoy working.

Passive Procrastinators

On the other hand, passive procrastinators are a kind of ‘negative’ procrastinators. These types of procrastinators fall into traps of indecision or lack of confidence that cause them to wait until the last minute to do something. This also affects their performance negatively.

For example, unlike an active procrastinator, a passive procrastinator may be presented with the same assignment, but instead of waiting to increase a positive sense of pressure for himself, he may put off working on it until ‘he has to’ simply because he doesn’t feel confident in his ability to do it correctly, or the prospect of doing it sends them into a tailspin of boredom.

A passive procrastinator typically delays the task due to being indecisive, feeling underprepared to do it, or out of fear of making mistakes.

And this cat perfectly conveys what every passive procrastinator would say :D
